Bio
Aidan Sears is a musician born and raised in Southern California who has been in love with music from a young age. Starting with the “Mommy and me” music classes he was taken to as an infant, Aidan began to participate in various instrument classes until choosing the clarinet in the 5th-grade band. Quickly advancing into advanced band classes and switching over to the baritone sax throughout the rest of his K-12 education, Aidan knew he wanted to pursue music at a deeper level. Aidan auditioned and attended the University of North Texas, where he studied with the likes of Brad Leali, Rich DeRosa, Rob Parton, and Quincy Davis.
During his time at UNT, Aidan participated in the Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band under the direction of Alan Baylock, another teacher of his, and can be heard on the band’s latest project, “Lab 2025.” While honing his craft in college, Aidan performed alongside the likes of Miguel Zenon, Steve Davis, Rufus Reid, Billy Childs, Matt Wilson, Vincent Herring, Phillip Dizack, Tia Fuller, Jeff Lederer, and many other incredible musicians. In addition to his studies in college, Aidan also participated and was one of 9 semifinalists in the 2024 NASA Collegiate Jazz competition.
Aidan graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2025 and began freelancing in the DFW Metroplex, where he grew a saxophone studio of over 30 students, many of whom proceeded to advance to all-state ensembles of various kinds, began writing and arranging for various groups, including his mentors Carla Helmbrecht and Brad Leali’s Groove-tet, and performing with various musical groups. Aidan has been fortunate to perform alongside many fine musicians including Brad Leali, Ed Soph, Dave Meder, Lynn Seaton, Quincy Davis, Ashlin Parker, Chris Milyo, Jennifer Barnes, Rosana Eckert, Tony Baker, Dale Fielder, Drew Phelps, Alan Green, Gregg Pricket, Rodney Booth, Steve Brown, Frederick Sanders, Miki Hayama, Jack Courtright, and many others.
In October of 2025, Aidan joined the World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, directed by Erik Stabnau, and now tours full-time with the band across the United States and internationally. Through his time with the band, Aidan has performed at venues including Severance Hall, Yoshi’s Oakland, Myron’s at the Smith Center, The Kennedy Center, the Chandler Center for the Arts, Place Des Arts in Montreal, and many others.
Outside of music, Aidan loves to hang with friends, explore different kinds of coffee shops in various places the band stops on the road, play video games, and spend time with his family’s dog, Millie.
